Karma Games
In modern gaming, karma games are a big hit. You find it impossible to play a western RPG without these choices. With more on the horizon and probably a metric tonne to be announced at E3, I'm interested in the common question. Good or Evil?
Personally, I the last few I played (Fable and Fallout) I started as evil. For those that normally play as good, you will be going by the opinion, "Evils far to easy," wrong. Being evil is normally harder than good. There is so many decisions, so I or shouldn't I kill Moire Brown, If I ransack Oakville will my wife in the Farm Cottage leave me, etc. These decisions take time and end with some regret. Although most of the time you feel pretty bad-ass.
So my question for you guys, Good or Evil? (Don't say neutral you wuss.)

Re: Karma Games
I find that i cant do the whole role play properly, so the decisions i take in game reflect how im feeling at the time. in a certain game, you must choose to go nice and liberal and kill the humans and protect the elves, but i was feeling pissed off when that bit came up so i thought screw the elves, ever quoting poetry at me, and i, alongside my new racist human friends, reduced the beautiful, elegant race to a thin red mist.
Good times!

Re: Karma Games
Well inFAMOUS is coming out next week and I'm thinking of playing good first. I hear its more fun throughout and it was more satisfying in the demo. Also it makes you feel more like a superhero which is really what the game is trying to do.
EDIT: Just realized this is in the 360 section.
1. Sorry for posting about PS3
2. Why the fudge is this in the Xbox section?

Re: Karma Games
Because if you think about it, there is NO karma games on Wii. Plus the only good PS3 Karma games are Infamous and Fallout 3 (which is on the xbox 360.) The XBOX also has the best version of Fallout, (because of DLC.) there is Fable and Oblivion also. Is that a good enough reason?

Re: Karma Games
Actually, all the DLC is coming to the PS3. And you'll find that the Game of the Year edition of Oblivion (the best version) IS on the PS3. So yea, that makes it 2 completely equal actually.
And I'm sure there are more karma games that I can't think of on PS3 (and maybe even on Wii).
So yeah.
MOVE.

Re: Karma Games
I blame my name is earl for this.
The first Karma game i knew about was shadow the hedgehog but that was shite.
For fable two, evil is easier you just have to massacre the market. Being good is hard, you can't eat crunchy chicks, kill anyone or be a bigamist. i have too much of a conscience, than you evil freaks of nature

Re: Karma Games
I still think the good/evil systems we have now are crap.
People do all kinds of crazy Ship and that doesnt necessarily mean theyre good or bad.
try saying bigamy is evil to a mormon (though that may be a bit different)
what we do need is not a [ Hitler---Very Evil---Bastard---A bit mean---Neutered (ahem neutral)---Good---Paladin---Jesus ] scale. The (urgh) D&D system was to have a 3x3 grid of moralityness, and i reckon this is a way forward.
I hate being called jesus in fallout 3 because i kill the big monsters, THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR! EVIL PEOPLE DO THE SAME!

No, Shadow the Hedgehog was in fact shite (says he who got almost all the endings)
Re: Karma Games
Why is sonic still with us? are they putting him down gently by slowly encrapinating his games without telling him? is that a Goood Karma point for being all sympathetic and king, or a Evil Karma point for being bastards, sucking the goodness out of a classic that should have stayed classic and raping him for all hes worth?

Re: Karma Games
I guess it counts as a "karma game":
Sonic Adventure 2
I don't care what you say, it was awesome!
and I found the "evil" storyline easier and then BAM suddenly epicly hard
the "good" storyline was more constant
gaiz
I actually want a karma game
so tell me which one is the best one and why, so I can go out and waste my EMA on it

Re: Karma Games
The Witcher.
It is VERY cause/effect big consequences type stuff... but you dont notice till too late.
and you can pick up prostitutes, set people on fire, do a swirly move decapitating everything nearyby in a blizzard of blood effects, do a number of rather... intricate shall we say finishing moves. You can be an absolute dick or a guy who's slightly less of a dick because he beats up more bad guys etc... OH! and you can take a whole LOAD of drugs, some of which you can make yourself.
Just thinking of things that would attract you, not necessarily to do with the karma system.
